A Fateful Night on East Capitol Street

On the night of September 4, 2019, at approximately 11:58 pm, the tranquility of Washington, D.C.'s 3900 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to reports of a shooting, members of the Sixth District arrived to find 22-year-old Semaj Alsobrooks unconscious, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite being rushed to a local hospital, Alsobrooks was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. The Immediate Aftermath and Investigation
