A Tragic Evening in The Woodlands
On the evening of January 8, 1982, tranquility shattered in the upscale community of The Woodlands, Texas. Robert Kenneth Genho, 54, and his wife, Janet E. Deppin Genho, 33, were brutally murdered in their residence at 25 Huntsman's Horn. The couple had been enjoying a quiet night at home when an unknown assailant rang their doorbell, setting off a chain of events that would leave the community in shock and investigators with a perplexing case that remains unsolved to this day.
The Crime Unfolds
Responding to a silent alarm triggered from the Genho residence around 9:50 PM, Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies arrived to a gruesome scene. The front door stood ajar, with a pool of blood on the patio. Inside, Robert was found in the living room, having suffered fatal gunshot wounds to the head and back. Janet's body was discovered on the second-story sundeck; she had been shot multiple times, including in the face, back, and side.
