A Family Outing Turns Tragic

On June 12, 1965, the Bordenkircher family arrived at their cabin on Beaver Street in Kings Beach, California, for a weekend retreat. The family consisted of parents and their four children, including two-year-old James Dwyer Bordenkircher, affectionately known as Jamie. As his parents unpacked, Jamie played on a wooden swing in the front yard. Moments later, he vanished without a trace. 

The disappearance prompted an extensive search involving over 1,000 people, including law enforcement agencies, volunteers, and the FBI.
