A Night of Celebration Turns Tragic

In the early hours of July 26, 2015, the lives of Darron Thomas, 32, and Kenneth Wallace, 35, were abruptly ended in a violent incident that remains unsolved to this day. The two men, accompanied by a 26-year-old woman, were returning from a party in Chicago's West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood. As they traveled southbound in the 500 block of North Avers Avenue around 2:35 a.m., an assailant opened fire from the sidewalk, targeting their vehicle. 

The Immediate Aftermath

The sudden gunfire caused the vehicle to veer off course, crashing into a fence and subsequently a garage. Darron Thomas, who was driving, and Kenneth Wallace, seated in the front passenger seat, both sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
