A Tragic Night in Southwest Washington, D.C.

On the evening of Saturday, September 14, 1996, the tranquility of the 4100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SW, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 10:35 p.m., 34-year-old Anthony Bruce Stidam was fatally shot, his life abruptly ended in a violent act that continues to baffle investigators and haunt the community.

In the wake of the shooting, law enforcement officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) swiftly arrived at the scene.
