On the night of July 21, 2014, tragedy struck the North Side of Chicago when Demond Parnell, a respected barber from the Rogers Park neighborhood, was fatally shot. The incident occurred around 10 p.m. as Parnell stood at 5218 N. Kenmore Avenue in the Edgewater community.
