Introduction

On March 9, 2005, at approximately 1:45 am, the lifeless body of 37-year-old Dwaine Edward Bethea, known to friends and family as "Woo," was discovered in the vicinity of 13th and V Streets, SE, Washington, D.C. He had been fatally shot, and despite the passage of time, his murder remains unsolved. The Metropolitan Police Department continues to seek public assistance in shedding light on this tragic event.

The Night of the Crime

In the early hours of that Wednesday, residents near 13th and V Streets, SE, were startled by the sound of gunfire. Upon arrival, law enforcement officers found Bethea suffering from gunshot wounds.
