A Life Remembered

Houston Lee McCorkle was born on October 6, 1942, in Hart County, Kentucky. He dedicated 29 years of his life as a conductor with the Norfolk Southern Railroad and served as a local chairman with the United Transportation Union. In retirement, Houston found joy in working with computers, a testament to his lifelong curiosity and adaptability. His family remembers him as a devoted father to his children, Lee Mont McCorkle and Mary Mann, and a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. His sudden and tragic death left a void in the lives of those who knew him. 

The Tragic Incident

On June 30, 2013, the Louisville Metro Police Department responded to a fire at Houston's residence on South 33rd Street in the Portland neighborhood. Upon extinguishing the blaze, authorities discovered Houston's lifeless body inside. An autopsy revealed that he had died from blunt-force trauma prior to the fire, indicating a deliberate attempt to cover up the crime.
