A Tragic Morning in Northeast D.C.

On the early morning of December 6, 2006, at approximately 5:10 a.m., the tranquility of the unit block of 46th Place NE in Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Residents, startled from their sleep, alerted the authorities. Upon arrival, officers from the Sixth District of the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) discovered a man lying in the middle of the street, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was identified as 23-year-old Juma Adams.

The Crime Scene and Immediate Response

The scene was cordoned off as detectives began their investigation. Despite the prompt response, the early hour and lack of immediate witnesses posed significant challenges.
