A Promising Young Life Cut Short

On February 19, 2007, the life of 13-year-old Lazarus Jones was tragically and abruptly ended. While walking home in Chicago's Albany Park neighborhood, Lazarus was brutally beaten to death at the corner of Lawrence and Troy. This senseless act not only robbed a young boy of his future but also left a community in mourning and a family shattered. 

Lazarus was an eighth grader with a bright future ahead of him. Described as funny and cool by his friends, he had a close-knit relationship with his sister, especially after the loss of their parents in a car crash when they were younger. His untimely death was a devastating blow to those who knew and loved him. 
