A Free Spirit's Disappearance

In late 1980, 26-year-old Lily Ann Prendergast left her family's home in Dallas, Texas, after an argument, intending to hitchhike—a practice she was known for. Described by her brother, William, as a free spirit, Lily had connections in Ohio, Florida, Georgia, and Texas. Discovery of Unidentified Remains

On October 27, 1981, skeletal remains of a white female were found on the side of Interstate 5 in Sacramento County, California, just south of the Freeport Boulevard overpass. Authorities estimated the victim had been deceased for one to five months. The remains were of a woman between 25 and 35 years old, approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall, with long brown hair.
