Introduction

On September 27, 2015, the Longwood Manor neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by the tragic death of Marcus Cox, a 28-year-old display cook at Bartlett Dining Commons. Known for his optimism, generosity, and sense of humor, Marcus's untimely death left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and colleagues. The Incident

In the early hours of September 27, 2015, at approximately 4:20 a.m., Marcus Cox was standing outside on the 9600 block of South Morgan Avenue in the Longwood Manor neighborhood.
