A Morning of Tragedy

On the morning of April 18, 2017, the Back of the Yards neighborhood in Chicago was shaken by a brutal crime. At approximately 8:17 a.m., 24-year-old Marcus Triplett and 22-year-old Jacquetta Pearson were seated in a dark-colored vehicle in the 5100 block of South Halsted Street. Their routine morning was violently interrupted when a white vehicle approached them. Two individuals exited the car and opened fire, fatally wounding both Triplett and Pearson.
