Discovery of the Body
On July 18, 2003, the Boca Raton Police Department received a distressing call from the landlord of a property located at 665 East Jeffrey Street. The landlord reported a foul odor emanating from the front area of the house. Upon investigation, a sealed garbage bag was found concealed behind the front bushes, hidden under debris. When authorities opened the bag, they discovered the decomposed remains of a young woman.
Identification of the Victim
The body was identified as 19-year-old Maria Patrice Jackson, who had been reported missing on June 30, 2003, to the Coral Springs Police Department. Maria was described as 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing 120 pounds, with distinctive piercings, including a tongue piercing, nose ring, and belly ring.
