A Tragic Evening in Southeast Washington, D.C.

On the evening of November 22, 2016, the tranquility of the 3300 block of 22nd Street, SE, in Washington, D.C., was shattered by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 8:39 p.m., 26-year-old Marquett J. Tyler was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, Tyler succumbed to his injuries, leaving a community in mourning and a family devastated.

Immediate Response and Investigation

The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) swiftly initiated an investigation into the homicide. Officers canvassed the area, seeking witnesses and gathering any available evidence.
