On a Thursday evening in January 2016, the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago was shaken by the tragic death of 19-year-old Michael Fernandez. Described by family and friends as a warm and friendly individual, Michael had recently graduated from Farragut High School, where he participated in the ROTC program.
