On June 9, 2017, the life of 18-year-old Romaine Elkins was tragically cut short in a senseless act of violence. A resident of Naperville, Illinois, Romaine was fatally shot in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, leaving his family and community devastated. The Fateful Evening

Around 5:15 p.m. on that ill-fated Friday, Romaine was standing in the 1500 block of North Linder Avenue. A dark-colored SUV approached, and without warning, occupants of the vehicle opened fire, striking him in the chest.
