On September 20, 2015, at approximately 8:20 p.m., 37-year-old Phillip Floro was walking with a friend in Chicago's Austin neighborhood, specifically in the 1600 block of North Central Avenue. During their stroll, a sudden gunshot rang out, and Floro realized he had been struck in the abdomen. His friend, unharmed, likely experienced the shock and confusion that accompanies such unexpected violence.
