On the afternoon of November 8, 2017, the tranquility of Chicago's West Side Austin neighborhood was shattered by a grim discovery. At approximately 1:17 p.m., police responded to a call in the 900 block of North LeClaire, where they found 37-year-old Ramon X. Williams with a fatal gunshot wound to the chest. Despite prompt medical attention, Williams, a resident of Kankakee, Illinois, was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:33 p.m. An autopsy later confirmed that he died from multiple gunshot wounds, and his death was officially ruled a homicide.
