Randy Lee Cave, a 55-year-old resident of San Angelo, Texas, was a well-known and respected member of his community. As the owner of Tennis Auction Co., Cave had established himself as a successful businessman. Beyond his professional endeavors, he was deeply involved in local activities, serving as the president of the San Angelo Bowling Association from 1990 to 2000 and leading the San Angelo Youth Bowling Association from 1985 to 2000. His commitment extended to his faith, where he acted as a treasurer, lay leader, and song leader at Day Memorial Methodist Church for 23 years. Cave's generosity and active participation in various organizations made him a beloved figure in San Angelo.

The Tragic Discovery

On the morning of January 15, 2009, concern grew among Cave's colleagues when he failed to arrive at work. A co-worker went to his residence in the 2200 block of Waco Street to check on him. Upon entering the home, they found Cave slumped in a living room chair, lifeless from a single gunshot wound. The scene revealed no signs of forced entry or struggle, suggesting that Cave might have known his assailant.
