A Promising Life Cut Short

On the evening of December 12, 2017, 23-year-old Romell Durr stood on a sidewalk in Chicago's Bronzeville neighborhood, unaware that his life was about to be tragically cut short. At approximately 8:17 p.m., in the 4700 block of South Prairie Avenue, an unknown assailant opened fire, striking Durr in the abdomen. Despite being rushed to Stroger Hospital, he was pronounced dead at 11:52 p.m.
