On the evening of May 4, 2019, the life of 18-year-old Saoun Coplins was tragically ended in a fatal shooting. At approximately 9:11 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) responded to reports of gunfire in the 3000 block of Stanton Road, Southeast Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, they discovered Saoun suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the prompt medical attention and transportation to a nearby hospital, Saoun was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
