A Promising Young Life Cut Short

On the evening of November 4, 2016, the life of 18-year-old Seneka Harrison was tragically ended in Chicago's West Side Austin neighborhood. Harrison was discovered unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the chest in an alley located in the 4700 block of West Congress Parkway. Despite being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, he was pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m.

A Community Plagued by Violence

Harrison's death was one among several violent incidents in Chicago that weekend. Between Friday evening and Sunday morning, eight individuals lost their lives, and at least 36 others were wounded in shootings across the city.
