A Tragic Night on Indianapolis' West Side

In the early hours of July 22, 2016, the quiet routine of Indianapolis' west side was shattered by a heinous crime. Susan L. Seel, a 52-year-old clerk, was working the overnight shift at the McClure gas station located at the intersection of Rockville Road and Lynhurst Drive. Around 3:15 a.m., a customer discovered Susan lying outside the station, critically injured from a gunshot wound to the head. Despite being rushed to Methodist Hospital, Susan succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival. 

A Life Dedicated to Service and Compassion

Susan's untimely death left a void in the hearts of many who knew her. She was a graduate of Mississippi State University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology. Her professional journey included roles at Marsh and Chapel Hill before her tenure at the McClure gas station. Beyond her professional life, Susan was deeply involved in her community. As a devoted member of Fleming Garden Christian Church, she tirelessly volunteered at the church's food pantry, often filling boxes adorned with pictures and inspirational poems.
