Discovery at Kailua Beach Park

On September 2, 1999, the serene ambiance of Kailua Beach Park was shattered by a grim discovery. In the early hours, at approximately 2:52 a.m., 41-year-old taxi driver Hahn Soo Kim was found lifeless in his cab. The vehicle, a 1984 brown Buick LeSabre station wagon bearing Hawaii license plate FTN-306, was parked with its engine running and lights on. Kim was seated in the driver's seat, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

A Routine Night Turns Tragic

Kim's evening had begun like any other. At 1:15 a.m., he contacted his dispatchers, informing them of a passenger pickup at the airport. By 1:30 a.m., he was last seen dropping off a fare in front of a Waikiki hotel.
