On the morning of September 14, 2016, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to a distressing call. A passerby had reported a lifeless body inside a vehicle near the intersection of Montery Road and Delmont Drive on the city's east side. Upon arrival, officers discovered 22-year-old Tiara Roberson, who had been fatally shot. Multiple bullet holes were evident in the car, indicating a violent attack. Authorities were uncertain whether Tiara was inside or outside the vehicle when the shooting occurred. 
