A Tragic Discovery
On March 17, 2015, the quiet neighborhood of Westminster, Colorado, was shaken by a heinous crime. Between 2:10 p.m. and 4:20 p.m., unknown assailant(s) entered the residence at 7337 Bradburn Blvd., home to 41-year-old Lucas Mendoza-Barrera and his family. Upon returning home, family members found Mendoza-Barrera fatally shot, with evidence suggesting he may have also been stabbed. The perpetrators had gained access through the rear entrance, leaving the community in shock and mourning.
The Immediate Aftermath
In the days following the murder, Westminster Police Department (WPD) launched an intensive investigation. Surveillance footage from two different sources captured two individuals, possibly older juveniles, near the residence around the time of the crime. These individuals were seen entering and exiting the area, raising suspicions about their involvement.
