On August 1, 1997, the bustling streets of Denver, Colorado, became the backdrop for a tragic event that would leave a family grieving and a community seeking answers. Jeremiah Thomas, a 15-year-old with a bright future ahead, was at a bus stop near the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. What began as a typical day ended in a senseless act of violence that remains unsolved to this day.

A Fatal Encounter

Witnesses recount that Jeremiah engaged in a verbal exchange with occupants of a passing vehicle. The situation escalated rapidly when the vehicle made a sudden U-turn, mounting the sidewalk to strike the teenager.
