Discovery of the Crime Scene

On the morning of March 13, 2017, Chicago police responded to a call about an illegally parked Chevrolet Monte Carlo in an alley on the 8600 block of South Throop Street in the Auburn Gresham neighborhood. Upon investigation, officers discovered a gruesome scene: the lifeless bodies of three young men—Ryan Hamilton, Vogels T. Anderson Jr., and Devontae Watson. Hamilton and Anderson were found inside the vehicle, while Watson's body was located in the trunk. Each had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The community was left in shock, grappling with the sudden loss and the violent nature of the crime.

Victims' Backgrounds

Ryan Hamilton, 20, hailed from south suburban Blue Island. Described by loved ones as a "big teddy bear," he had a passion for photography, fashion, and cherished his car. Hamilton was known for his loving and humorous nature, often bringing joy to those around him. Vogels T. Anderson Jr., also 20, was affectionately called "Stormy" by friends and family.
