A Routine Day Turns Mysterious

On July 3, 2016, Phillip Alan Smith, a 51-year-old resident of Fort Smith, Arkansas, went about what appeared to be a typical day. He was last seen around 1:00 p.m. after dropping off a friend in Dora, Arkansas. Witnesses noted that Smith seemed anxious to leave, an observation that, in hindsight, adds a layer of intrigue to his subsequent disappearance. 

The Abandoned Vehicle at Spring Hill Park

Later that same day, Smith's black Ford F-150 pickup truck was discovered abandoned at Spring Hill Park near Barling, Arkansas, specifically at Lock and Dam 13.
