A Quiet Life in Bokeelia

Milton H. Crocker was a 67-year-old resident of Bokeelia, Florida, a small, tranquil community on Pine Island. Known for its serene landscapes and tight-knit populace, Bokeelia was an unlikely setting for a mystery that would captivate and confound both locals and investigators. Crocker, a white male standing 6'3" and weighing approximately 200 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes, led a life that, by all accounts, was unremarkable yet content. However, beneath this calm exterior, Crocker was reportedly struggling with depression, a detail that would later become significant in understanding the circumstances of his disappearance.  

The Day He Disappeared

On January 4, 2019, Crocker vanished without a trace. That morning, he left his home carrying two firearms. Later that day, a longtime friend discovered an envelope in his mailbox. Inside were several hundred dollars in cash, lottery tickets, the keys to Crocker's pickup truck, and a letter containing instructions on managing his personal affairs.
