A Routine Morning Turns into a Lifelong Mystery

On the morning of November 24, 2016—Thanksgiving Day—51-year-old Olga Vyacheslav Segal was seen sweeping the walkway outside her apartment in the 1900 block of Berryman Street in Berkeley, California . This seemingly ordinary activity marked the last confirmed sighting of Olga. She had plans to spend the holiday with a family she regularly babysat for but never arrived, prompting concern among friends and family. Her sudden disappearance left a void that has yet to be filled. 

An Artist's Life: From Russia to California

Born on October 6, 1965, in Russia, Olga Segal was a licensed architect who graduated from the St. Petersburg Academy of Art . After relocating to the United States, she immersed herself in the arts community of Berkeley. She taught watercolor painting classes for adults, ran a youth arts program at a local church, created and sold greeting cards, and made jewelry.
