However, since February 3, 2018, the town has been overshadowed by the mysterious disappearance of one of its residents, Steven Carter Best. The Day Steven Disappeared

On the day he vanished, Steven was last seen at his residence in Beattyville. He was 38 years old at the time, standing between 5'10" and 5'11", weighing approximately 150 to 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.
