A Quiet Desert Town and a Sudden Disappearance

Topock, Arizona—a remote community nestled along the Colorado River—is known more for its desert stillness than for headlines. But on August 1, 2017, that quiet was broken when 35-year-old William “Billy” Loboda Jr. vanished without a trace. The Lancaster, California native had been visiting a woman near the Topock Marsh, a region of wetlands and rugged terrain. He was supposed to return home but never made it. His vehicle was later found abandoned, and no one has heard from him since. 

Who Was Billy Loboda?

Standing 6'2" and weighing between 280 and 330 pounds, Billy was a physically imposing man with a distinctive appearance. He had brown hair, hazel eyes, and numerous tattoos: his last name “Loboda” across his back, “Brotherhood” on his collarbone, “Bill Loboda” on his chest, and flames on his right leg.
