A Deadly Encounter in Madison

On January 28, 2017, the quiet of a Madison apartment complex was shattered by gunfire. Eighteen-year-old Javonte Robinson sat in a parked black Infiniti at 1040 North Dupont Avenue, accompanied by 20-year-old Roy Hunter and another individual. As the third person exited the vehicle and walked toward the apartments, two assailants approached and opened fire into the car. Robinson was fatally wounded, and Hunter sustained critical injuries. The assailants then dragged the victims from the vehicle and fled the scene in the stolen Infiniti, which was later recovered on Rio Vista Drive.

Swift Arrests of Teenage Suspects

In the days following the shooting, Metro Nashville Police made significant progress in the case. On February 1, 2017, 16-year-old Jevon Wilson was arrested and charged with criminal homicide and especially aggravated robbery. His arrest followed the earlier detentions of two other 16-year-olds, Terrence Rainey and Byron Berkley, who faced similar charges.
