Initial Report of Disappearance

On March 23, 2021, the Greensboro Police Department initiated an investigation into the disappearance of 6-month-old Nevaeh Smith. The inquiry revealed that Nevaeh had last been seen in mid-December 2020, prompting immediate concern for her safety. 

Arrests and Charges

As the investigation progressed, authorities arrested Nevaeh's mother, 22-year-old Deneshia Lerhae Murray, and her boyfriend, 23-year-old Jalen Maurice Wall. Both individuals were charged with first-degree murder and felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury.
