A Bright Spirit from Miami

Diane Elaine Rohbeck, affectionately known as "Dee-Dee," was a vivacious 22-year-old woman residing in Miami, Florida. Born on March 6, 1956, she was characterized by her brown hair, brown eyes, and a slender frame standing at 5'6" and weighing approximately 105 pounds. Diane's life was filled with promise and adventure, traits that would define her final known journey.

The Ill-Fated Voyage Begins

On March 9, 1978, just three days after celebrating her birthday, Diane embarked on a boating trip with her friend, 24-year-old Ken Castleberry of Hollywood, Florida. They set out from Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale aboard a distinctive 24-foot NOVA inboard/outboard boat, registered as FL6315BH. The vessel was notable for its purple hull and stern, white deck, purple and white striped seats, and a white canvas top.
