A Routine Trip Turns Into a Mystery
On October 28, 2019, 60-year-old Keith Leslie Stroup from Yuma, Arizona, embarked on what seemed to be a routine trip to San Luis Río Colorado, Mexico. He intended to check on his Ford Bronco, which was undergoing repairs. Accompanied by his two large tan pit bulls, Boozer and Missy, Keith drove his white 2000 Honda CRV across the border—a journey he had made numerous times before. However, this time, he never returned. His last known communication was a text message sent to family and friends, stating he was in line at the San Luis Port of Entry, waiting to cross back into the United States.
The Immediate Aftermath and Search Efforts
When Keith failed to return home and ceased all communication, his mother, Freida Stroup, grew increasingly concerned. After several days of unanswered texts and calls, she filed a missing person's report with the Yuma County Sheriff's Office . Due to Keith being under 65 and not having any developmental disabilities, a Silver Alert could not be issued.
