A Routine Errand Turns Into a Mystery

On September 8, 1994, 25-year-old Joyce Lynn Dupont disappeared in Lake Charles, Louisiana, after leaving her sister's home. She had asked her sister to babysit her child while she went to the Housing Authority. Joyce walked to the corner of Bank and Broad Streets to catch a bus but never arrived at her destination and has not been seen since. 

A Mother’s Sudden Disappearance

Joyce was a mother of two and was described as a responsible person. She had very little money at the time of her disappearance, and authorities do not believe she left of her own accord. Her sudden disappearance left her family and community searching for answers. 

Physical Description and Identifiers

At the time she went missing, Joyce was 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighed 135 pounds. She had black hair and brown eyes. She had a tattoo of the word "Lynn" on her leg and a tattoo of the letter "D" on her arm. Her ears were pierced. 

The Investigation and Public Response

The Lake Charles Police Department has been investigating Joyce's disappearance, but no significant leads have emerged. Her case remains unsolved, and she is listed as an endangered missing person.
