An Ordinary Night Turns Mysterious

On the evening of Thursday, May 24, 2018, Jean-Marc Faubert, a 28-year-old active-duty sailor stationed at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, bid goodnight to his fiancée around 10:00 PM. This seemingly routine farewell would be the last known communication anyone had with him. By the early hours of Friday, May 25, his car was discovered abandoned at the south parking lot of the Deception Pass Bridge on Whidbey Island, Washington, with no sign of Jean-Marc .

A Chilling Discovery at Deception Pass

At approximately 5:45 AM on May 25, park authorities found Jean-Marc's vehicle in the parking area near the Deception Pass Bridge. Inside the car were his wallet and cell phone, but notably absent were his car keys and any indication of his whereabouts .
