The Last Known Day: A Routine Errand Turns Mysterious

On November 9, 1981, Patricia Lee Hesse, a 34-year-old woman from Rutland, Vermont, embarked on what appeared to be a routine shopping trip. She visited the Rutland Mall, where she purchased a $200 fur coat. This mundane activity would mark the last confirmed sighting of Patricia. Later that evening, her landlady discovered food burning on the stove in Patricia's apartment, with the table set for dinner, but Patricia was nowhere to be found.
