A Quiet Day Turns Tragic: The Disappearance of Daniel Orbik

On May 31, 1992, what began as a routine canoeing excursion in the scenic waters near Homer, Alaska, ended in mystery and tragedy. Daniel Richard Orbik, along with companions Robert Gershbein and Melvin Mestre Jr., embarked on a trip in Kachemak Bay. The trio was reported overdue, and despite extensive search efforts, they were never found. Authorities suspect that the men possibly drowned, but the exact circumstances remain unknown.
