A Routine Voyage Turns Mysterious

On October 21, 1997, William Kent Watkins, a 50-year-old resident of Soldotna, Alaska, embarked on what seemed to be a routine maritime journey aboard the private vessel Loose Goose Too, accompanied by 42-year-old Steven Scott Austin. The duo purchased fuel in Seldovia that afternoon, marking the last confirmed sighting of both men and their boat. Despite extensive search efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard across Kachemak Bay and the lower Cook Inlet, no trace of the vessel or its occupants was ever found. 

Profiles of the Missing

William Watkins stood approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed around 165 pounds, and had blond or strawberry-colored hair with blue eyes. At the time of his disappearance, he was 50 years old.
