A Routine Shift Turns into a Mystery
On the evening of July 31, 2015, 59-year-old Michael Lee Smith, a seasoned taxi driver in Orlando, Florida, embarked on what was expected to be another routine shift. Discovery of the Abandoned Taxi
In the early hours of August 1, 2015, Orlando police responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near Ohio Avenue and Sunset Lake Drive. Upon arrival, they found a taxi partially submerged in Lake Sunset, showing clear signs of foul play. The vehicle had been set on fire, and evidence suggested an attempt to push it into the lake to conceal a crime. The taxi was registered to Michael Smith, but he was nowhere to be found .
