On the evening of January 12, 1986, Stephen Lagoria Hughes was last seen at his residence in Bountiful, Utah. Stephen Hughes was 46 years old at the time he went missing. He stood between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet 1 inch tall and weighed approximately 180 to 185 pounds. He had blond or strawberry blond hair, possibly balding, and green eyes. Distinctive features included a skin discoloration in the middle of his back and scars from shingles on his left side.
