The Couple's Background

Eugene Hyatt, born on October 21, 1983, was an 18-year-old from Stayton, Oregon. He stood 5'7" tall, weighed approximately 145 pounds, and had brown hair and blue eyes. His girlfriend, Kami Vollendroff, born on December 12, 1984, was 16 years old at the time of her disappearance. She was also 5'7" tall, weighed around 125 pounds, and had brown hair with blonde streaks and blue eyes. Both were described as typical teenagers with a love for adventure and the outdoors.

The Fateful Day

During the Thanksgiving holiday of 2001, Eugene and Kami were staying at an oceanfront condominium in Depoe Bay with Eugene's grandparents.
