Introduction

Chad Pallansch, a 49-year-old resident of Fort Collins, Colorado, embarked on an ambitious solo hike through Rocky Mountain National Park on September 27, 2023. Known for his extensive experience as a trail runner and marathoner, Pallansch planned a challenging 28-mile route that would take him across the Continental Divide. The Planned Expedition

Setting out from the East Inlet Trailhead near Grand Lake, Pallansch's itinerary was both demanding and adventurous.
