A Life in Recovery

Thomas Doolan, a 59-year-old man from New London, Connecticut, was last seen on December 6, 2019. At the time, he was residing in a sober living facility on Berkeley Avenue, having maintained sobriety for approximately 18 months. Despite his past struggles with substance abuse and mental health issues, Doolan had been making positive strides in his recovery journey. His commitment to staying clean and rebuilding his life was evident to those around him. 

The Day He Disappeared

On the morning of his disappearance, Doolan exchanged text messages with his family, marking the last known contact anyone had with him. Later that day, he left most of his belongings behind at the sober living facility, including his wallet and phone. His only known means of transportation was a black men's mountain bicycle with a flashlight taped to the handlebars using green duct tape. 

Family's Growing Concern

Doolan's sudden disappearance was out of character. His daughter, Paige Knobel, emphasized that he would never miss significant family events, such as his grandson's birthday or Christmas. She noted that he had always maintained regular contact, even during challenging times. The lack of communication raised immediate concerns for his well-being. 

The Search Efforts

In the weeks following his disappearance, Doolan's family undertook extensive efforts to locate him. They reached out to hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and even jails across the state, hoping for any information.
