A Quiet Morning Turns into a Lifelong Mystery

On the morning of December 17, 2016, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, awoke to a typical day. However, for the Morales Vargas family, it marked the beginning of an enduring nightmare. Thirteen-year-old Rudy Morales Vargas and his sixteen-year-old brother, Heber, vanished without a trace. The brothers were last seen in Fort Lauderdale, and it is believed they may have traveled to Port St. Lucie, Florida, possibly seeking work in the agricultural fields—a common pursuit in the region.
