His untimely death left family, friends, and neighbors in deep mourning. A Family's Double TragedyThe Dosunmu family was enduring another hardship at the time of Grant's murder. His father, Razak Dosunmu, had recently been convicted on two counts of illegal gratuity and was sentenced to 15 months in prison on November 18, 2016, less than a month before Grant's death. Razak was scheduled to begin his sentence on January 3, 2017. In light of the family's tragedy, his attorney filed a motion to allow Razak to remain free pending appeal or, alternatively, to extend his report date by three weeks.
